Two friends, one standard.

Jordan and CJ go back further than most business partners. At twelve years old, they started their first business knocking on doors in the Fieldcrest neighborhood in Mystic, mowing lawns to fund their childhood: dirt bikes, dominoes, whatever two kids that age actually want to spend money on. It wasn't a grand plan. It was just work, done well enough that people kept asking them back.

They kept at it straight through high school. In 2014, neither of them bound for college, they looked at what they'd already built and decided to find out where it could actually go. That partnership became Peak Landscaping, residential work built on the Connecticut shoreline, growing into commercial properties throughout Southeastern Connecticut as they went. In 2022, they launched American Ground & Snow alongside it to take on more commercial and snow work, running two companies side by side under the belief that splitting the work would serve clients better.

It didn't. Same team, same standards, just double the overhead for no real benefit, so they brought everything under one name: American Ground & Snow.

That's not just a line, it's how we think about every property we touch. We see ourselves as a fiduciary to our clients, not a vendor. That means we recommend what you actually need, not what's most profitable for us to sell. If something can wait, we'll tell you it can wait, and what a phase two might look like when you're ready. If a job's small enough to do yourself, we'll tell you that too, even if it costs us the work. Plenty of companies will sell you every service on the menu. We tell you the truth about what your property does and doesn't need, and it's why so many of our clients started with a single job and never called anyone else.

This photo captures one of our proudest early moments: the day we picked up our first brand-new commercial truck. Years later, we care for homes and businesses across Mystic, Groton, Stonington, and the surrounding shoreline year-round, from the first spring cleanup to the last winter plow. Where we're headed: we want to grow past a thousand residential clients and take on work for some of the most prestigious commercial properties in Southeastern Connecticut, without ever losing the standard that got us here.
