Both plans cover the lawn the same way. The only real question is whether you also want the beds and bushes held to that standard, or whether you would rather keep doing those yourself.
Both are 9-month plans running April to December, and both figures are a floor for a property up to 8,000 sq ft. Above that they move with lot size and bed area, which is why we measure rather than guess. Mulch is billed separately either way. Neither plan needs a contract and you can move between them mid-season. Every service is also sold on its own.
A shoreline lawn and an inland lawn are not the same job.
Southeastern Connecticut is small enough that people assume it is uniform. It is not. Four things change what a property needs, and a crew driving down from Hartford will not know about any of them. Guidance below follows what UConn publishes for New England turf.
Sandy soil near the water
Properties in Mystic, Noank and along the Stonington shore sit on sandier, faster-draining ground than the same-size lot in Ledyard or Norwich. They dry out first in a July dry spell, so they get cut higher and left longer rather than being scalped on a fixed schedule. Inland lots hold moisture and keep growing when the shore has stopped.
Cool-season grass, so height is everything
Everything up here is fescue, bluegrass and rye, which grow hard in spring and fall and struggle in August. Three to three and a half inches in spring, up to three and a half to four through the summer so the canopy shades its own crown and holds moisture, then back down with a shorter final cut in November. Most brown lawns in this county are cutting height, not water.
Oaks drop weeks after maples
A property with mature oaks gets completely undone by mid November if it is swept once in late October. That is why some properties need two fall passes and others genuinely do not. It is a question about your trees, not an upsell, and we tell you which one you are when we walk it.
Snow sits on what you leave behind

Which plan should I take?

What does lawn care cost around here?

Is it the same crew every week?
Yes, and it is the reason the route is kept tight. The same crew learns where the sprinkler heads are, which gate sticks and which side of the drive the bins go on. Rotating crews is how details get missed.
What happens over the winter?
Plans run the growing season, roughly April through November, and finish with the fall cleanup. Snow and ice is billed separately because it depends entirely on the winter, and it is handled by the same company rather than a subcontractor.
