Why people move up

A cut lawn with neglected beds still reads as neglected.

Mowing is the half of a property people notice weekly. Beds are the half they notice all at once, usually in July when the weeds have won. A premium lawn care plan in Mystic CT covers both on the same schedule, with the same crew, so the property never splits into a sharp lawn and a tired border.

Weeds lose

Monthly hand weeding pulls them before they set seed, which is the only way a bed gets easier each year instead of harder.

Shrubs keep shape

Pruned on the schedule the plant wants, not whenever a crew happens to have shears out.

One bill, one crew

The people who cut the lawn are the people in the beds. Nothing gets pointed at another contractor.

What is included

Everything in Essential Care, plus the beds.

Premium is the whole property on one schedule. If you only want the lawn, Essential Care is the plan for that.

Included as standard

All of Essential Care

Weekly mowing through the season, plus the spring cleanup that opens the year and the fall cleanup that closes it. The full plan is on the Essential Care page.

Added on Premium

Monthly bush and bed service

Every bed walked once a month. Weeds pulled by hand before they seed, edges re-cut, and anything that blew in cleared out.

Added on Premium

Bushes and shrubs pruned

Kept in shape through the season and cut on the timing each plant actually wants, which is not the same date for all of them.

Available, billed separately

Fresh mulch installation

Quoted on its own rather than buried in the monthly, because mulch depends on how many yards your beds actually take. You pay for what goes down, nothing more.

How beds are actually kept

Most shrubs are not pruned wrong. They are pruned on the wrong date.

This is the part that separates a bed crew from a mowing crew, and it is why bush and bed is a scheduled service rather than something squeezed onto the end of a mow. The pruning windows below are the ones UConn publishes for New England.

Foundation shrubs pruned to clean shapes with mulch pulled back from the stems

Pruned on the plant's timing

Forsythia, lilac, rhododendron and azalea set next year's buds on old wood, so they get cut right after they finish flowering. Cut them in spring and you have removed the flowers before they open. Panicle hydrangea and spirea bloom on new wood, so they come back in late winter. It is the same shears, a different calendar.

Freshly weeded and mulched bed with a crisp spade-cut edge against mown turf

Weeded before it seeds

One weed left to seed is next season's hundred. Monthly hand weeding is what makes a bed get easier every year instead of harder, and it is why we walk every bed on a schedule rather than only when it looks bad from the street.

On mulch depth. Two to three inches suppresses weed germination and holds moisture. Deeper than that starves roots of air, and piling it against a trunk or a stem holds damp bark until it rots. That is why our mulch is pulled back in a ring around every stem rather than mounded up into a cone. If you have volcano mulch now, we will fix it on the first visit.
How the plan runs

Set up once. Then it just happens.

One walk to start

We walk the property with you once, measure it, and note what it actually needs. That visit sets the plan and the price for the season.

Your day, locked

You get a fixed day and a priority slot on that route. Plan customers hold their place when the week gets busy.

The same crew

The people who cut your lawn in April are the people cutting it in September. They learn the property, which is why the finish gets better rather than drifting.

One person to talk to

A single point of contact who knows your property by name, not a shared inbox and not a different dispatcher every time.

One bill a month

A flat monthly amount across the season instead of an invoice after every visit. What the plan costs depends on the size of the property and how much trimming and edging it carries, so we quote it after the walk.

When the weather moves it

We do not cut saturated turf, because wet grass tears and the mower ruts the ground. If your day is a washout we move to the next dry day and you hear from us.

Our commitment

The Best Yard Guarantee.

The whole point of a plan is that holding the standard becomes our job, not yours. So if something on the property is not right, you do not need to argue it or document it. Tell us, and we make it right.

Questions

Straight answers about the premium lawn care plan in Mystic CT.

What is the difference between Essential and Premium?

Essential is the lawn: weekly mowing plus the spring and fall cleanups. Premium is all of that plus the beds, with monthly weeding and pruning. If your beds are simple or you handle them yourself, Essential is the right plan.

How often is the bush and bed service?

Monthly through the season. Every bed gets walked, weeds pulled by hand, edges re-cut and shrubs pruned when their window comes round.

Why is mulch billed separately?

Because it depends entirely on how many yards your beds take, and that is not the same from one property to the next. Rolling an average into everyone's monthly means half our customers overpay. We measure the beds and quote the mulch on its own.

Will you cut my hydrangeas at the wrong time?

No, and it is the most common damage we get called in to undo. Bigleaf hydrangea sets its buds on old wood, so cutting it back in spring removes the flowers before they open. Panicle types bloom on new wood and are pruned in late winter. We prune to the plant, not to the calendar.

What does the plan cost?

It starts at $763 a month on a 9-month plan running April to December, for properties up to 8,000 sq ft, and moves with the size of the property and how much bed area it carries. We walk it, measure it, and give you one flat monthly figure. Free, on site, no obligation.

Which towns is it available in?

Mystic, Groton, Stonington, Ledyard and Norwich, plus the villages around them. Full list on our service area page.
